The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are three at whom Allah smiles: a man who rises in the night to pray, people who line up in rows for prayer, and people who line up in ranks for battle."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ثلاثة يضحك الله إليهم: الرجل يقوم من الليل، والقوم إذا صفوا للصلاة، والقوم إذا صفوا للقتال.
Ibn Majah narrated it (200) through the route of Abdullah bin Ismail, and Ahmad narrated it (11761) through the route of Hushaym, both of them (Abdullah and Hushaym) narrating from Mujalid, from Abu Wadak, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, then he related it.Mujalid is Mujalid bin Saeed Hamdani, and his memory deteriorated toward the end of his life, while Hushaym was among his early companions, as Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi said. For this reason, this hadith of his is graded hasan.
