It is only a condition that Allah has prescribed for women.
في قوله تعالى: {ولا يعصينك في معروف}
إنما هو شرط شرطه الله للنساء.
Bukhari narrated it in the Tafsir (4893), from Abdullah bin Muhammad, who said, Wahb bin Jareer narrated to us, who said, my father narrated to us, who said, I heard Zubayr, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who related it.The variation in wording regarding the pledge indicates that it took place on different occasions.An important note, the pledge was specific to the Prophet ﷺ, then it applied to the caliphs who came after him, then this pledge continued for the rulers and leaders of the Muslims. As for what the Sufis and those who followed their path introduced, it has no basis in the Book or the sunnah.
