Ubada bin Samit reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a pledge from us, just as he took from the women, that we would not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit fornication, nor kill our children, nor slander one another. Whoever among you fulfills this pledge, his reward is with Allah. Whoever commits any of these offenses and the prescribed punishment is carried out on him, that serves as his expiation. And whoever is concealed by Allah, his affair rests with Allah. If He wills, He punishes him, and if He wills, He forgives him.

His saying, "O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor bring forth a slander they have invented between their hands and feet, nor disobey you in what is right, then accept their pledge and ask Allah to forgive them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
