Lat was a man who used to mix saweeq, the saweeq of the pilgrims.
قال كان اللات رجلا يلت السويق، سويق الحاج.
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4859), from Muslim bin Ibrahim, who said, "Abu Ashhab told us, Abu Jawza told us, from Ibn Abbas," and he mentioned it.As for His saying, "and Uzza" [Najm 53:19], Uzza was located at Nakhlah, a place between Makkah and Taif, and Quraysh used to venerate it, as Abu Sufyan said on the day of Uhud, boasting of it and glorifying it, as reported in the sahih.
