Masruq reported,

Masruq said, I asked Ayesha رضي الله عنها, "Mother, did Muhammad see his Lord?"She replied, "My hair stands on end at what you have just said. Where are you with respect to three things? Whoever tells you any of them has lied. Whoever tells you that Muhammad ﷺ saw his Lord has lied." Then she recited, "No vision can grasp Him, but He grasps all vision, and He is the Subtle, the All-Aware" [Anam 6:103], and "It is not granted to any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil" [Shura 42:51]."And whoever tells you that he knew what would happen tomorrow has lied." Then she recited, "No soul knows what it will earn tomorrow" [Luqman 31:34]."And whoever tells you that he concealed anything has lied." Then she recited, "Messenger, convey what has been sent down to you from your Lord" [Maidah 5:67], and the rest of the verse."But he did see Jibreel عليه السلام in his full true form twice."

Sahih
