The Prophet ﷺ said, "Five things are part of the natural disposition, or five practices belong to the natural disposition: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, trimming the nails, plucking the underarm hair, and clipping the moustache."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: الفطرة خمس، أو خمس من الفطرة: الختان، والاستحداد، وتقليم الأظفار، ونتف الإبط، وقص الشارب.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing (5889, 5891, 6297), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Purification (257). Both narrated it from the hadith of Ibn Shihab, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.His saying, "istihdad," means shaving the pubic hair. It is called istihdad because of the use of the hadidah (iron blade), which is the razor and the like.
