She used to say, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Be upright, follow the moderate course, and receive glad tidings, for no one will enter Paradise by his deeds alone."They asked, "Not even you, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Not even I, unless Allah envelops me in mercy from Himself. And know that the most beloved of deeds to Allah is the most consistent, even if it be little."
أنها كانت تقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ: سددوا وقاربوا وأبشروا، فإنه لن يدخل الجنة أحدا عمله. قالوا ولا أنت؟ يا رسول الله! قال: ولا أنا إلا أن يتغمدني الله منه برحمة، واعلموا أن أحب العمل إلى الله أدومه وإن قل.
Bukhari related it in "The Book of Softening of Hearts" (6467), and Muslim in "The Book on the Description of the Day of Resurrection" (2818), both through Musa bin Uqba, who said, I heard Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf narrate from Ayesha that she used to say, then he mentioned it. The wording given here is that of Muslim.
