Bishr said, "We were with Hudhayfah in al-Madain when he asked for something to drink. A Persian landowner brought him a beverage in a silver vessel, and he threw it back at him."Hudhayfah said, "I am telling you that I had ordered him not to serve me in such a vessel, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not drink from vessels of gold or silver, and do not wear brocade or silk, for these belong to them in this world and to you in the Hereafter, on the Day of Resurrection.'"
Muslim narrated it in "Clothing and Adornment" (2067) from Saeed bin Amr bin Sahl bin Ishaq bin Muhammad bin Ashath bin Qays, who said, Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated to us, I heard him mention it from Abu Farwa, that he heard Abdullah bin Ukaym say, and then he related it.
