The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you dies, his place is shown to him morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, then from the people of Paradise, and if he is among the people of the Fire, then from the people of the Fire. He is told, 'This is your place until Allah resurrects you on the Day of Resurrection.'"
إن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن أحدكم إذا مات عرض عليه مقعده بالغداة والعشي. إن كان من أهل الجنة فمن أهل الجنة، وإن كان من أهل النار فمن أهل النار. يقال له: هذا مقعدك حتى يبعثك الله إلى يوم القيامة.
Malik narrated it in Janaiz (48) from Nafi, from Abdullah bin Umar, and he related it.Bukhari narrated it in Janaiz (1379), and Muslim in Jannah wa Sifat Naimiha wa Ahliha (2866), both through the route of Malik, with the same wording.
