Mujahid reported,

The people were circling the House while Ibn Abbas sat nearby with a hooked staff in his hand, and he said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited, "You who believe, fear Allah as He ought to be feared, and do not die except as Muslims" [Al Imran 3:102], and then said, "If a single drop of Zaqqum were to fall upon the people of the earth, it would poison their whole existence. So what of the one who has no food but Zaqqum?"

عن مجاهد

أن الناس كانوا يطوفون بالبيت، وابن عباس جالس، معه محجن، فقال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: {يأيها الذين ءامنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون}[سورة آل عمران: ١٠٢] ولو أن قطرة من الزقوم قطرت لأمرت على أهل الأرض عيشهم، فكيف من ليس له طعام إلا الزقوم.
