The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been commanded to fight people until they say, 'There is no god but Allah.' Whoever says, 'There is no god but Allah' has secured his property and his life from me, except by its rightful claim, and his reckoning is with Allah."Allah revealed in His Book, mentioning a people who were arrogant, "Indeed they, when it was said to them, 'There is no god but Allah,' would be arrogant" [Saffat 37:35].
Ibn Abu Hatim narrated it in his Tafsir (10/3210) from Abu Ubaydullah, the son of the brother of Ibn Wahb, who said, my uncle related to us, who said, Layth related to us, from Ibn Musafir, meaning Abdul-Rahman bin Khalid, from Ibn Shihab, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and then he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Abu Ubaydullah Ahmad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Wahb Misri and because of Abdul-Rahman bin Khalid bin Musafir Fahmi, for these two make the hadith hasan. The origin of the hadith is found in the Sahihayn, as Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Military Expeditions (2946), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (21), both of them through a route from Ibn Shihab with this wording up to his saying, "and his reckoning is with Allah," only, and they did not mention what comes after it.
