I asked the Prophet ﷺ about the saying of Allah Most High, "And the sun runs to its resting place" [Ya-Sin 36:38]. He said, "Its resting place is beneath the Throne."
سألت النبي ﷺ عن قوله تعالى: {والشمس تجري لمستقر لها} قال: مستقرها تحت العرش.
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4803), and Muslim in the book of faith (251:159), both of them through Waki, who said, "Amash narrated to us, from Ibrahim Taymi, from his father, from Abu Dharr," who said, then he mentioned it. The wording given here is Bukhari's, and Muslim's wording is similar.
