The Prophet ﷺ passed by with a group of his companions, and there was a small child in the road. When the boy's mother saw the men approaching, she feared that her son would be trampled, so she rushed forward crying, "My son! My son!" She ran and snatched him up.The companions said, "Messenger of Allah, this woman would never throw her son into the fire."The Prophet ﷺ calmed them and said, "Nor would Allah cast His beloved into the fire."
Ahmad narrated it (12018, 13467), and Bazzar (Kashf Astar 3476), and Hakim graded it sahih (1/58, 4/177), all of them through routes from Humayd Tawil, from Anas, who narrated it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs."
