The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let none of you be prevented by awe of others from speaking the truth when he sees it, witnesses it, or hears it."Abu Saeed remarked, "I wish I had never heard this hadith."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا يمنعن أحدكم هيبة الناس أن يقول في حق إذا رآه، أو شهده، أو سمعه. وقال أبو سعيد: وددت أني لم أسمعه.
Ahmad (11017) narrated it from Ibn Abu Adi, from Sulayman - that is, Ibn Tarkhan Taymi - from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, who said, and then he related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. As for Abu Saeed's statement, "I wish I had never heard it," he meant this hadith, because of how difficult it is to act upon it properly.
