She said, "I asked the Prophet, 'Why are we not mentioned in the Quran the way men are mentioned?'"She said, "Then one afternoon nothing startled me except his call from the pulpit. I was combing my hair, so I gathered it up, then went out to the chamber of my house and put my ear close to the palm-trunk wall. He was saying from the pulpit, 'People, Allah says in His Book, "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women" to the end of the verse, "Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward"' [Ahzab 33:35]."
قلت للنبي: ما لنا لا نذكر في القرآن كما يذكر الرجال؟ قالت فلم يرعني ذات يوم ظهرا إلا نداؤه على المنبر، قالت: وأنا أسرح رأسي، فلففت شعري، ثم خرجت إلى حجرة بيتي، فجعلت سمعي عند الجريد، فإذا هو يقول على المنبر: يا أيها الناس، إن الله يقول في كتابه: {إن المسلمين والمسلمت والمؤمنين والمؤمنت} إلى آخر الآية {أعد الله لهم مغفرة وأجرا عظيما}
Nasai narrated it in Al-Kubra (11341) - and this is his wording - through the route of Mughira bin Salama Abu Hisham Makhzumi. Ahmad (26575) and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (23/293-294) also narrated it through the route of Affan bin Muslim. Both of them (Mughira and Affan) narrated from Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad, who said, Uthman bin Hakeem narrated to us, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Shayba narrated to us, from Umm Salama, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is sahih.Ahmad (26575) also narrated it through the route of Yunus bin Muhammad, and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (23/295-299) through the route of Muhammad bin Minhal, both of them from Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad, who said, Uthman bin Hakeem narrated to us, who said, Abdullah bin Rafi narrated to us, from Umm Salama, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is also sahih, and both routes are preserved, for Abdul-Rahman bin Shayba and Abdullah bin Rafi both heard from Umm Salama.
