Anas reported that this verse, "their sides forsake their beds" [Sajdah 32:16], was revealed concerning the practice of waiting for the prayer that people call the nightfall prayer.
أن هذه الآية {تتجافى جنوبهم عن المضاجع} نزلت في انتظار هذه الصلاة التي تدعى العتمة.
Tirmidhi (3196) narrated it from Abdullah bin Abu Ziyad, who said, "Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah Uwaysi told us, from Sulayman bin Bilal, from Yahya bin Saeed, from Anas bin Malik," and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Abu Ziyad, for he is hasan al-hadith. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith, gharib, we do not know it except by this route." Ibn Kathir said in his tafsir, "Its chain is good."
