Iyad bin Himar reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said one day in his sermon, "Indeed, my Lord has commanded me to teach you what you do not know from what He has taught me this day. Everything I have granted to a servant is lawful. I created all my servants with an upright nature, but the devils came to them and turned them away from their religion. They forbade them what I had made lawful for them, and commanded them to associate with me that for which I had sent down no authority..." The hadith continues at length.
