The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every newborn is born upon the natural disposition. It is his parents who make him a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian, just as an animal gives birth to a whole and sound offspring. Do you find any with mutilated ears among them?"Then he recited, "The natural disposition of Allah upon which He has created mankind. There is no altering Allah's creation. That is the upright religion" [Rum 30:30].
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما من مولود إلا يولد على الفطرة، فأبواه يهودانه أو ينصرانه أو يمجسانه، كما تنتج البهيمة بهيمة جمعاء هل تحسون فيها من جدعاء ثم يقول: {فطرت الله التي فطر الناس عليها لا تبديل لخلق الله ذلك الدين القيم}
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4775), and Muslim in the chapter on divine decree (2658), both of them through Abdullah bin Wahb, who said, "Yunus bin Yazid informed us, from Ibn Shihab Zuhri, who said, 'Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman informed me that Abu Hurairah said,'" and he mentioned it. The wording given is that of Bukhari, while Muslim's wording is abridged.
