Two men exchanged insults, a Muslim and a Jew.The Muslim said, "By the One who chose Muhammad above all the worlds!"The Jew said, "By the One who chose Musa above all the worlds!"At that, the Muslim raised his hand and struck the Jew across the face. The Jew went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him what had happened between him and the Muslim. The Prophet ﷺ summoned the Muslim and questioned him about it, and the man told him what had occurred. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not give me preference over Musa. On the Day of Resurrection, all people will fall unconscious, and I will fall unconscious along with them. I will be the first to recover, and there I will find Musa holding onto the side of the Throne. I do not know whether he was among those who fell unconscious and recovered before me, or whether he was among those whom Allah exempted."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Disputes (2411), and Muslim in the Book of Virtues (2373:160), both from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Saad, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman and Abdul-Rahman Araj, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it. Their wording is the same.
