When the verses declaring my innocence were revealed, the Prophet ﷺ stood on the pulpit, mentioned the matter, and recited it, meaning the Quran. When he came down from the pulpit, he gave orders concerning the two men and the woman, and the prescribed punishment was carried out on them.
لما نزل عذري قام النبي ﷺ على المنبر، فذكر ذلك وتلا- تعنى القرآن-، فلما نزل من المنبر، أمر بالرجلين والمرأة، فضربوا حدهم.
It was narrated by Abu Dawud (4474), Tirmidhi (3181), Ibn Majah (2567), Ahmad (24066), and Bayhaqi in Dalail (4/74), all of them from the hadith of Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Abdullah bin Abu Bakr, from Amra, from Ayesha, and he related it.Ibn Ishaq stated explicitly in the version found in Bayhaqi, and he added, "They accused her regarding Safwan bin Muattal Sulami."Nufayli stated explicitly that the two men were Hassan bin Thabit and Mistah bin Uthatha, and he said, "They say the woman was Hamna bint Jahsh."It was narrated by Abu Dawud (4475) from Nufayli, from Muhammad bin Salama, from Muhammad bin Ishaq, with this hadith, but he did not mention Ayesha, as Abu Dawud stated.Their names have also come explicitly in the hadith of Abu Hurairah that follows.
