Abu Waqid reported,

When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Medina, the people were cutting off the humps of camels and the fat-tails of sheep. He said, "Whatever is cut from an animal while it is still alive is considered carrion."

قدم النبي ﷺ المدينة، وهم يجبون أسنمة الإبل، ويقطعون أليات الغنم، قال: ما قطع من البهيمة وهي حية، فهو ميتة.

His saying, "And the sacrificial camels We have made for you among the symbols of Allah, in them is good for you. So mention the name of Allah over them when lined up.
