The Prophet ﷺ said, "The most hated of people to Allah are three: one who commits sacrilege in the Sacred Precinct, one who seeks to revive the practices of the days of ignorance within Islam, and one who unjustly demands a person's blood in order to shed it."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: أبغض الناس إلى الله ثلاثة: ملحد في الحرم، ومبتغ في الإسلام سنة الجاهلية، ومطلب دم امرئ بغير حق ليهريق دمه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Blood Money (6882), from Abu Yaman, who said, Shuayb informed us, from Abdullah bin Abu Husayn, who said, Nafi bin Jubayr narrated to us, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.It was also narrated from Abdullah bin Masud regarding His saying, "And whoever intends therein deviation by wrongdoing, We will make him taste a painful punishment" [Hajj 22:25], he said, "If a man intended deviation in it while he was in Adan Abyan, Allah would make him taste a painful punishment." It has been narrated both as a raised hadith and as a stopped report. As for the raised version, it was narrated by Ahmad (4071), Bazzar in Kashf Astar (2236), and Abu Yaala (5384), and Hakim graded it sahih (2/388), all of them through the route of Yazid bin Harun, who said, Shuba informed us, from Suddi, that he heard Abdullah, and he mentioned it.Hakim said, "It is sahih according to the standard of Muslim." Shuba used to say, "He [meaning his teacher] raised it, but I will not raise it for you." So Shuba would narrate it from his teacher Suddi as a raised hadith, but he himself held the view that it should be stopped, and so when he narrated it he would not raise it.Likewise, Sufyan Thawri also narrated it from Suddi, who is Ismail bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Kareemah, in the same manner but as a stopped report. Daraqutni mentioned this in his Ilal (5/269).Sufyan also narrated it from Zubayd, from Murrah, from Ibn Masud, as a stopped report. Hakim narrated this (2/387).So Shuba and Sufyan agreed on stopping it, even though Shuba would narrate it from his teacher as raised, while he himself would not raise it. For this reason, Hafiz bin Kathir and others concluded that the stopped version is more sahih.Something similar has also been narrated from Dahhak bin Muzahim regarding His saying, "And whoever intends therein deviation by wrongdoing, We will make him taste a painful punishment" [Hajj 22:25]. He said, "A man may intend a sin while in Makkah, though he is in another land and has not committed it, and it is still recorded against him." Ibn Jareer narrated this in his Tafsir (16/508–509).
