Someone said, "Messenger of Allah, invoke a curse upon the polytheists."He replied, "I was not sent as one who curses. I was sent only as a mercy."
قيل: يا رسول الله! ادع على المشركين. قال: إني لم أبعث لعانا، وإنما بعثت رحمة.
Muslim reported it in Al-Birr wal-Silah wal-Adab (2599) through several routes from Marwan Fazari, from Yazid bin Kaysan, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurairah, who related it.
