An Arabi came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "What is the Sur?"He replied, "It is a horn that will be blown into."
جاء أعرابي إلى النبي ﷺ، فقال: ما الصور؟ قال: قرن ينفخ فيه.
Abu Dawud (4742), Tirmidhi (2430/3244), and Ahmad (6507) all narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (7312) and Hakim (2/436) graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Sulayman Taymi, from Aslam Ajli, from Bishr bin Shighaf, from Abdullah bin Amr bin As, who related the hadith, and the wording given is that of Tirmidhi.Tirmidhi said in the first place, "This is a hasan hadith. We do not know it except through the hadith of Sulayman Taymi." And in the second place he said, "Hasan sahih. We only know it through the hadith of Sulayman Taymi." In some copies the two statements are reversed from how I have mentioned them. Its isnad is sahih.
