Ali reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever lies about me intentionally to mislead people by it, let him take his seat in the Fire."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: من كذب علي متعمدا ليضل به الناس، فليتبوأ مقعده من النار.
Bazzar narrated it (Kashf Astar 209) from Abdullah bin Saeed, from Yunus bin Bukayr, who said, our teacher Amash narrated to us, from Talha bin Musarrif, from Amr bin Shurahbil, from Abdullah, and he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Yunus bin Bukayr. Haythami said, "Its narrators are the narrators of the sahih collections." Abdullah bin Saeed, the teacher of Bazzar, is Abu Saeed Ashaj, one of the trustworthy narrators.Tirmidhi also narrated this hadith (2659) from Abu Hisham Rafii, with his chain going back to Ibn Masud. Abu Hisham Rafii's name is Muhammad bin Yazid bin Muhammad bin Kathir, and he is daif. Bukhari said, "I have seen them unanimous in judging him weak."Tirmidhi also narrated it (2257), as did Ibn Majah (30), by another route, from Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Masud, from his father, relating it at greater length in a similar manner, though without the phrase "so that he may lead the people astray by it." Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Masud only heard a few isolated words from his father, which some scholars have enumerated, and this is not among them.
