We used to hear the food glorifying Allah while it was being eaten.
ولقد كنا نسمع تسبيح الطعام وهو يؤكل.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Virtues (3579), from Muhammad bin Muthanna, who said, Abu Ahmad Zubayri narrated to us, who said, Israil narrated to us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Alqama, from Abdullah bin Masud, who said, and he mentioned it.His statement, "We used to hear the food glorifying Allah as it was being eaten," means during the time of the Prophet ﷺ and in his presence. This is confirmed by the narration of Ismaili, as found in Fath al-Bari (6/592), "We used to eat food with the Prophet ﷺ, and we would hear the food glorifying Allah."
