The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am holding you back by your waistbands, but you overcome me and plunge into it the way moths and locusts plunge into fire. Soon I will release my hold on your waistbands. I will go ahead of you to the Pool, and you will come to me, whether together or in scattered groups."
It was narrated by Ibn Abu Shayba in Musannaf (11/451-452), and this is his wording, by Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah (744), and by Bazzar in Kashf Astar (900). All of them transmitted it through Malik bin Ismail, who said, Yaqub bin Abdullah Qummi told us, from Hafs bin Humayd, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, from Umar bin Khattab, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of the discussion surrounding Yaqub bin Abdullah Qummi, though his hadith is hasan.
