He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The one who forbids what is lawful is like the one who permits what is forbidden."

Tabarani narrated it in Al-Awsat (Majma Bahrayn - 268), Musa bin Harun told us, Musa Ansari told us, Asim bin Abdul-Aziz Ashjai told us, from Harith bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zubab, from Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Umar, from his father, and he related the hadith.Haythami said in Al-Majma (1/176), "Its narrators are the narrators of sahih."I say, its chain is hasan. It contains Asim bin Abdul-Aziz, and Harith bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zubab, both of whom make the hadith hasan.However, Abu Hatim said, "This is a munkar hadith."I say, this may be because of the isolated transmission of Asim and his teacher. The hadith has other chains, but they are all defective.
