Hakeem bin Hizam reported,

On the day of Badr we heard a sound falling from the sky to the earth, like the sound of a pebble dropping into a basin. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw those pebbles at them, and they were routed. This is what Allah Most High meant by His words, "And you did not throw when you threw, but it was Allah who threw, so that He might test the believers with a good trial from Him" [Anfal 8:17].

عن حكيم بن حزام قال

لما كان يوم بدر سمعنا صوتا وقع من السماء إلى الأرض، كأنه صوت حصاة وقعت في طست، ورمى رسول الله ﷺ بتلك الحصيات، فانهزموا، فذلك قول الله تعالى: {وما رميت إذ رميت ولكن الله رمى وليبلي المؤمنين منه بلاء حسنا}.
