Jibreel came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "How do you regard those who fought at Badr among you?"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Among the best of the Muslims," or words to that effect.Jibreel said, "And likewise are those of the angels who were present at Badr."
جاء جبريل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: ما تعدون أهل بدر فيكم؟ قال: من أفضل المسلمين أو كلمة نحوها، قال: وكذلك من شهد بدرا من الملائكة.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Military Expeditions (3992), from Ishaq bin Ibrahim, who said, Jareer (that is, bin Abdul-Hameed) informed us, from Yahya bin Saeed (that is, the Ansari), from Muaz bin Rifa bin Rafi Zurqi, from his father, and his father was among the people of Badr, who said, then he mentioned it.
