Abu Juhayfa reported,

I asked Ali bin Abu Talib, "Do you have any written record from the Prophet?"He replied, "No, only the Book of Allah, or an understanding granted to a Muslim man, or what is in this scroll."I asked, "What is in this scroll?"He answered, "The rules of blood-money, the ransoming of captives, and the ruling that a Muslim is not to be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever."

عن أبي جحيفة قال

قلت لعلي بن أبي طالب: هل عندكم كتاب؟ قال: لا إلا كتاب الله، أو فهم أعطيه رجل مسلم، أو ما في هذه الصحيفة. قال: قلت: فما في هذه الصحيفة؟ قال: العقل وفكاك الأسير، ولا يقتل مسلم بكافر.
