When the verse "Not equal are those of the believers who sit at home" [Nisa 4:95] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called Zayd and dictated it to him. Then Ibn Umm Maktum came and complained about his blindness, so Allah revealed "except those who are disabled" [Nisa 4:95].
لما نزلت: {لا يستوي القعدون من المؤمنين} دعا رسول الله ﷺ زيدا فكتبها، فجاء ابن أم مكتوم، فشكا ضرارته، فأنزل الله: {غير أولي الضرر}
Bukhari narrated it in the Tafsir (4593), and Muslim in the Commandership (1898), both through the route of Shuba, from Abu Ishaq, from Bara, who said, and he related it.As for what Tabarani narrated in Al-Kabir (5/190), and Tabari (7/368), both through the route of Abu Sinan Shaybani, from Abu Ishaq, from Zayd bin Arqam in a similar manner, this is a mistake attributing it to Zayd bin Arqam. What is correctly preserved is from Abu Ishaq, from Bara, as Abu Zura and Ibn Hajar stated. See Ilal Ibn Abu Hatim (992), and Fath al-Bari (8/261).As for His saying, "other than those who are disabled" [Nisa 4:95], the disability referred to is a deficiency, whether it be blindness, lameness, illness, or lack of capacity.
