I raised my head on the day of Uhud and began to look around, and there was not a single one of them that day who was not swaying beneath his shield from drowsiness. That is what is referred to in His statement , "Then He sent down upon you, after the distress, security in the form of drowsiness" [Aal Imran 3:154].
رفعت رأسي يوم أحد فجعلت أنظر، وما منهم يومئذ أحد إلا يميد تحت جحفته من النعاس، فذلك قوله عز وجل: {ثم أنزل عليكم من بعد الغم أمنة نعاسا}.
Tirmidhi (3007), Nasai in Kubra (11134), Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba in Musannaf (19892), and Hakim (2/297) all narrated it through various routes from Hammad bin Salama, from Thabit, from Anas, from Abu Talha, who said, then mentioned it. Its chain is sahih. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith." Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim." Drowsiness also occurred during the Battle of Badr, as will be mentioned in the tafsir of Surah Anfal, verse 11.
