The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the night prayer until Umar called out to him, "The prayer! The women and children have fallen asleep."He came out and said, "No one on earth is waiting for this prayer except you."The narrator said, At that time, the prayer was not being performed anywhere except in Madinah. They used to pray it between the disappearance of the twilight and the first third of the night.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer (569), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Mosques (638), both from the hadith of Ibn Shihab Zuhri, who said, "Urwa bin Zubayr told me that Ayesha said," and he mentioned it.
