Ayesha reported,

Ayesha reported that a man asked permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Let him in. What a wretched member of his clan he is," or "What a wretched brother of his clan."But when the man came in, the Prophet ﷺ spoke gently to him.I said to him, "Messenger of Allah, you said what you said about him, then you spoke kindly to him?"He replied, "Ayesha, the worst of people in standing before Allah is the one whom people abandon, or avoid, to be safe from his vulgarity."
