The Prophet ﷺ said, "People are like mines. The best of them in the days of ignorance are the best of them in Islam, provided they gain understanding of the religion. You will find that among the best of people are those who most strongly disliked taking on authority until they fell into it."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: الناس معادن، خيارهم في الجاهلية خيارهم في الإسلام إذا فقهوا، تجدون من خير الناس أشد الناس كراهية لهذا الشأن حتى يقع فيه.
