Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ ordered the payment of zakat al-fitr as one saa of dates. A man brought poor-quality dates, so the Prophet ﷺ said to Abdullah bin Rawaha, "Do not estimate these dates." Then the Quran was revealed, "O you who believe, spend from the good things you have earned and from what We have brought forth for you from the earth, and do not aim toward the bad of it to spend" [Baqarah 2:267].
