Abu Hurairah reported,

The people of the pre-Islamic era used to recite the Torah in Hebrew and explain it in Arabic to the Muslims. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not believe the People of the Book, nor disbelieve them. Rather, say, 'We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us'" [Baqarah 2:136].
