Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Messenger of Allah, tell us about yourself."He replied, "I am the answer to the prayer of my father Ibrahim and the glad tidings announced by Isa. When my mother was carrying me, she saw a light come forth from her that illuminated the palaces of Busra, and Busra is in the land of Sham."
Hakim narrated it (2/600) via Yunus bin Bukayr, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, "Thawr bin Yazid told me, from Khalid bin Madan," and he related it. It also appears in the Sirah of Ibn Ishaq, paragraph (33), through this same route.Hakim said, "Khalid bin Madan is among the best of the Tabiin. He accompanied Muaz bin Jabal and other companions after him, so when he traces a hadith back to the companions, its chain is sahih."Ibn Kathir said in Bidayah wal-Nihayah (2/275), "This is a good, strong chain."
