The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Children of Israil were told, 'Enter the gate prostrating and say, Relieve us of our burden' [Baqarah 2:58], but they altered it. They entered dragging themselves along on their backsides and said, 'A grain in a barley ear.'"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: قيل لبني إسرائيل: {وادخلوا الباب سجدا وقولوا حطة} فبدلوا، فدخلوا يزحفون على أستاههم، وقالوا: حبة في شعرة.
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4641) and Muslim in the tafsir (3015), both from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Mamar narrated to us, from Hammam bin Munabbih, who said, This is what Abu Hurairah narrated to us, and he then mentioned it.
