The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best of you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it."In another wording, "The most virtuous among you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه. وفي لفظ: إن أفضلكم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Virtues of the Quran (5027) from Hajjaj bin Minhal, who said, Shuba narrated to us, who said, Alqama bin Marthad informed me, I heard Saad bin Ubayda, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Sulami, from Uthman, and he mentioned it.The other narration was reported by Bukhari in the Virtues of the Quran (5028) from Abu Naeem, who said, Sufyan narrated to us, from Alqama bin Marthad, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Sulami, from Uthman bin Affan, and he mentioned it.Tabarani narrated it in al-Kabir (10/200) through the route of Asim bin Bahdala, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Sulami, from Abdullah bin Masud, and he mentioned it similarly as a raised report.His statement, "Abdullah bin Masud," is a mistake, and the correct view is that it belongs to the musnad of "Uthman bin Affan," as Daraqutni said in al-Ilal (59/3).
