When we were copying the pages into the official codices, I missed a verse from Surat al-Ahzab that I used to hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting frequently. I could not find it with anyone except Khuzaymah al-Ansari, whose testimony the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had declared equal to the testimony of two men. The verse was "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting, and they have not changed in the least" [Ahzab 33:23].
Bukhari narrated it in the tafsir (4784) from Abu Yaman, who said, Shuayb informed us, from Zuhri, who said, Kharija bin Zayd bin Thabit informed me that Zayd bin Thabit said, and then he mentioned it.Zayd bin Thabit had memorized the Book of Allah, so its memorization was made easy for him when he was collecting the Quran. However, he did not rely on his memorization alone, but rather collected the Quran from what had been written on tablets and palm stalks, and he did not confirm anything except with the testimony of two men.
