Allah Almighty sent revelation upon His Messenger ﷺ in close succession before his death, until He took him, and the revelation was at its most abundant. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away.In another wording, Allah sent revelation upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in close succession before his death, until he died, and the revelation was at its most abundant on the day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away.
Bukhari narrated it in the Virtues of the Quran (4982), and Muslim in the Tafsir (3016:2), both from Amr Naqid, who said, Yaqub bin Ibrahim (that is, Ibn Saad) told us, from his father, from Salih bin Kaysan, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Anas bin Malik informed me, and he related it.His statement, "the day he died," means the days of his illness during which he died.
