Ayesha reported,

Ayesha reported that there was a woman in Madinah whose husband was a merchant who used to travel often. Whenever he left her, she would see a dream, and he rarely departed without leaving her pregnant. She would come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and say, "My husband went out as a merchant and left me pregnant. In my sleep I saw that the central pillar of my house broke, and that I gave birth to a one-eyed boy."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would reply, "Good. Your husband will return to you safely, Allah willing, and you will give birth to a righteous boy."She would see this dream two or three times, and each time she would come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he would say the same to her. Her husband would return, and she would give birth to a boy.One day she came as she usually did, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was away, and she had seen that same dream.I said to her, "What do you wish to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about, servant of Allah?"She replied, "It is a dream I keep seeing. I come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and ask him about it, and he tells me it means good, and it turns out just as he said."I said, "Tell me what it is."She said, "Not until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ comes, so I may present it to him as I usually do."By Allah, I did not leave her until she told me. Then I said, "By Allah, if your dream is true, your husband will die and you will give birth to a wicked boy."She sat down weeping and said, "What is the matter with me that I told you my dream?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in while she was crying, and said, "What is the matter with her, Ayesha?"I told him what had happened and how I had interpreted it for her.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Stop, Ayesha. When you interpret a dream for a Muslim, interpret it favorably, for a dream turns out according to the way the interpreter explains it."By Allah, her husband died, and I do not think she gave birth to anything but a wicked boy.

عن عائشة زوج النبي ﷺ قالت

كان امرأة من أهل المدينة لها زوج تاجر يختلف، فكانت ترى رؤيا كلما غاب عنها زوجها، وقلما يغيب إلا تركها حاملا، فتأتي رسول الله ﷺ فتقول: إن زوجي خرج تاجرا فتركني حاملا، فرأيت فيما يرى النائم: أن سارية بيتي انكسرت، وأني ولدت غلاما أعور. فقال رسول الله ﷺ: خير، يرجع زوجك عليك إن شاء الله تعالى صالحا، وتلدين غلاما برا فكانت تراها مرتين أو ثلاثا، كل ذلك تأتي رسول الله ﷺ فيقول ذلك لها فيرجع زوجها، وتلد غلاما، فجاءت يوما كما كانت تأتيه، ورسول الله ﷺ غائب، وقد رأت تلك الرؤيا، فقلت لها: عم تسألين رسول الله ﷺ يا أمة الله؟ فقالت: رؤيا كنت أراها، فآتي رسول الله ﷺ فأسأله عنها. فيقول: خيرا، فيكون كما قال فقلت: أخبريني ما هي، قالت: حتى يأتي رسول الله ﷺ فأعرضها عليه كما كنت أعرض. فوالله ما تركتها حتى أخبرتني، فقلت: والله لئن صدقت رؤياك، ليموتن زوجك وتلدين غلاما فاجرا، فقعدت تبكي، وقالت مالي حين عرضت عليك رؤياي؟ فدخل رسول الله ﷺ وهي تبكي، فقال لها: ما لها يا عائشة؟ فأخبرته الخبر وما تأولت لها. فقال رسول الله ﷺ مه يا عائشة إذا عبرتم للمسلم الرؤيا فاعبروها على الخير، فإن الرؤيا تكون على ما يعبرها صاحبها فمات والله زوجها، ولا أراها إلا ولدت غلاما فاجرا.
