Tirmidhi (2280) and Darimi (2193) narrated it through Yazid bin Zuray, who said, "Saeed narrated to us, from Qatada, from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurairah," and he related it, and the wording given here is Darimi's. Its isnad is sahih. Yazid bin Zuray heard from Saeed (who is Ibn Abu Aruba) before he became confused.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith."Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked, "Can everyone interpret dreams?" He said, "Does one play with prophethood?"Malik said, "No one should interpret dreams except one who is skilled at it. If he sees something good, he should tell of it, and if he sees something disliked, he should say something good or remain silent."He was asked, "Should he then interpret it as good, when in his own view it points to something disliked, following the view of those who say a dream turns out according to how it is interpreted?" He said, "No."Then he said, "The dream is a part of prophethood, so prophethood must not be toyed with." Tamhid (1/288).
