A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I saw my head being struck, and I watched it rolling away."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Satan goes to one of you and frightens him with terrifying visions, then the man rushes off in the morning to tell people about it."
جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: إني رأيت رأسي ضرب، فرأيته يتدهده، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: يعمد الشيطان إلى أحدكم، فيتهول له، ثم يغدو يخبر الناس.
Nasai (10683), Ibn Majah (3911), and Ahmad (8763) all narrated it from the hadith of Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Zubayr Zubayri, from Umar bin Saeed bin Abu Husayn, who said, Ata bin Abu Rabah narrated to me, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. The wording given is that of Ibn Majah.Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Busiri also graded it sahih in Misbah Zujaja.
