The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Messengership and prophethood have come to an end. There will be no messenger after me, nor any prophet."This weighed heavily on the people, so he said, "But the bearers of glad tidings remain."They asked, "Messenger of Allah, what are the bearers of glad tidings?"He replied, "The dream of a Muslim. It is one of the parts of prophethood."
Tirmidhi (2272), Ahmad (13824), and Hakim (1/391) all narrated it from the hadith of Affan bin Muslim, who said, Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad narrated to us, who said, Mukhtar bin Fulful narrated to us, who said, Anas bin Malik narrated to us, and he related it.Its isnad is hasan because of Mukhtar bin Fulful. Tirmidhi said, "This is a sahih, gharib hadith from this angle, from the hadith of Mukhtar bin Fulful." Hakim said, a hadith sahih in isnad according to the criterion of Muslim.Note, part of the chain is missing from the printed edition of Al-Mustadrak, so it should be supplemented from Ithaf Mahra (2/329–330).
