I visited Ayesha, and she said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My ummah will not perish except by stabbing and plague."I asked, "Messenger of Allah, this stabbing we know, but what is the plague?"He replied, "A swelling like the swelling of a camel. The one who remains steadfast through it is like a martyr, and the one who flees from it is like one who flees from the battlefield."
دخلت على عائشة، فقالت: قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا تفنى أمتي إلا بالطعن والطاعون قلت: يا رسول الله، هذا الطعن قد عرفناه، فما الطاعون؟ قال: غدة كغدة البعير، المقيم بها كالشهيد، والفار منها كالفار من الزحف.
Ahmad (25118) narrated it through several chains from Jafar bin Kaysan Adawi, who said, Muazah bint Abdullah Adawiyyah narrated it to us, and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Jafar bin Kaysan, for he is truthful and is among the narrators listed in Tajil. Some named the teacher of Jafar bin Kaysan as Amrah Adawiyyah, while most of the narrators named her Muazah Adawiyyah. If Jafar bin Kaysan heard it from both Muazah and Amrah, as Ibn Hajar leaned toward in Bazl Maun (p. 278), then each account would be strengthened by the other. Otherwise, the view of the majority is more likely correct.
