The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever goes to a fortune-teller or a soothsayer and believes what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad ﷺ."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من أتى عرافا أو كاهنا فصدقه فيما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد ﷺ.
Hakim narrated it (8/1) and Bayhaqi transmitted it from him (1358), through two routes from Awf bin Abu Jameela, from Khilas and Muhammad, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Its isnad is sahih through the route of Muhammad (who is Ibn Sirin), but through the route of Khilas it is disconnected, for Khilas (who is Ibn Amr Hijri) did not hear from Abu Hurairah, as Ahmad bin Hanbal and others have stated.Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith meeting the standard of both of them together, from the hadith of Ibn Sirin, and they did not include it."The hadith has also been narrated through another isnad found in Abu Dawud (3904) and elsewhere, with a longer wording, and it has been cited in the book on purification.
