The Prophet ﷺ said, "The evil eye is real, and if anything were to outrun destiny, the evil eye would outrun it. When you are asked to wash, then wash."

عن ابن عباس
عن النبي ﷺ قال: العين حق، ولو كان شيء سابق القدر سبقته العين، وإذا استغسلتم فاغسلوا.
Muslim narrated it in the book of Salam (2188) through several routes from Muslim bin Ibrahim, who said, Wahib narrated to us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.
